Job Description
Role: Campaigns Organiser
Hours: 37.5 per week, to include frequent evening and weekend working.
Responsible to: Campaigns Manager (Wales)
Salary: £25,000
Location: Cardiff or Swansea
Purpose of the job: To “put more gold on the map” getting more Welsh Liberal Democrat MSs, MPs, and councillors elected in a local area. To work with volunteers to increase capacity and deliver intensive year-round political campaigns.
Closing date: Friday, 14th March
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with activists – by regular campaigning you will recruit new volunteers and upscale existing ones. You will organise and train our volunteers to get the most out of them while making campaigning fun.
- Increase campaign output – help plan and execute weekly campaign activities, incl. communicating regularly with volunteers to organise canvassing, delivery, telephoning, and joining volunteers for those campaign activities.
- Help get the campaign done – most of the job is active campaigning out and about, but will sometimes involve running of events, work in the office, and preparing stakeboards.
Person Specification:
- You know how to organise yourself and get things done with attention to detail, in a busy work environment with competing deadlines.
- You can create a fun campaigning atmosphere, motivate people and get the best out of them. You have strong interpersonal skills and can work in a team.
- You will stay on top of your workload, communicating effectively with the team to make sure everyone knows what needs doing.
- You are good at setting priorities and targets and sticking to them.You can multitask and have good verbal and written communication skills.
- You care enough to do what needs to be done to help us deliver a winning campaign.
- You have a working knowledge of standard office practices and computer packages.
- Experience of engaging with a range of audiences, and a full, clean driving licence and access to a car would be desirable.
